The L-shaped kitchen is the most popular layout in Chennai apartments. It uses two adjacent walls to create a natural work triangle between the stove, sink, and refrigerator. Works well for kitchens from 70 to 150 sqft with a door or window on either open side.

Three Walls. Total Control.
The U-shaped kitchen wraps cabinetry around three walls for maximum storage and counter space. Best suited for kitchens above 100 sqft. The closed configuration keeps cooking zones separate from the rest of the home, ideal for families who cook frequently and seriously.

The Social Kitchen.
An island kitchen opens the kitchen to the rest of the home. The central island serves as a prep surface, breakfast bar, and social space simultaneously. Best for open-plan layouts where the kitchen flows into the dining or living area, requiring 160 sqft or more of kitchen space.

Two Facing Walls. Pure Efficiency.
Also called a galley kitchen, the parallel layout places two rows of cabinets on opposite walls. Highly efficient for narrow, long kitchen spaces. Common in apartments with a separate enclosed kitchen and a door at each end. One wall typically carries the wet zone, the other the dry zone.
